So many new therapies!

While I was sleeping, the list of treatments, various drugs, research and trials – continued to astound and amaze! I barely had a chance to explore all the incredible stories coming down the pike! Like for instance…(excerpts below)

“Not expecting a complete response to dostarlimab, Ms. Roth had planned to move to New York for radiation, chemotherapy and possibly surgery after the trial ended. To preserve her fertility after the expected radiation treatment, she had her ovaries removed and put back under her ribs.

After the trial, Dr. Cercek gave her the news.

“We looked at your scans,” she said. “There is absolutely no cancer.” She did not need any further treatment.”

All 18 patients in the trial above had complete remission. While it was only used on rectal cancer, there is a possibility it may work on other cancers that are considered hard to treat.

There are new HIFU options for prostate cancer, various immunotherapy drugs that help the body SEE the cancer cells and destroy them. Some drugs are being repurposed like ivermectin and fenbendazole. When combined with current cancer drugs, the repurposed drugs are helping to give a bigger punch to the overall treatment. Keytruda can be excellent by itself, but when paired with ivermectin, some researchers noticed a 60% to 80% reduction in tumor size!

Does this mean you should be doing the therapies above? Well, maybe. But always have a talk with your oncologist as most should be up to date on upcoming drugs and trials. Some research is hard to believe while some is so encouraging I feel like shouting to the world!

One proven therapy which I always swear by, is love. When you love and receive love, I believe your body creates certain healthy enzymes, that seek out and remove cancer cells. But hey, that’s just me thinking that. Your traction may vary. (smile)

Almost Halloween Again! And a BAT story to begin it with…

What can I say? Most likely something of course. How about we start with a treatment protocol for prostate cancer that defies perceived medical procedure and tosses it out the proverbial window! You may have even heard whispers about it in mainstream media. While it’s not totally accepted as a treatment regimen, the success rate is out of this world. Yes, I’m talking about (BAT) Bipolar Androgen Therapy.

Or simply put, injecting a high dose of testosterone after a year or two of reducing the testosterone level to almost nothing or androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). After the injection, stopping any t-blockers, is done for a period of time before resuming the daily doses. While there is no standard currently, a 2 week on, 2 week off is somewhere to start.

Please note that all the above needs to be discussed with your doctor(s) before attempting the regimen. Oncologists spend years figuring out ways to reduce the testosterone in your body to keep prostate cancer cells from happily consuming it. A long since proven way to slow/reduce or sometimes stop the cancer from growing or spreading is reducing the amount of testosterone in your body that can feed the prostate cancer.

So, what happens when adding a large dose of testosterone to your low current levels of T? Well, the jury is out on that but the generally accepted thoughts are it overwhelms the cells and causes them to cease to exist. Like going to a buffet but you can’t stop after not having your favorite steak or ice cream for years so you basically gorge on it. And the cells simply explode. Or just stop functioning. When pairing monthly injections with certain immune protocols (think Keytruda), tumors have shrunk up to 60% or more! PSA markers become non-detectable! Does it last or is it temporary? Since this is still very new research there are no guidelines or accepted outcomes. Should everyone try it? Nah, as there is always the possibility of a negative outcome. Most of the research and unofficial trials I have read show little to no side effects. And even if the protocol doesn’t work, there seems to be no downside – only an upside – at least for now. Some excellent information at the websites below which goes into the inner workings of the treatment.

Well all I can say is this BAT isn’t scary and won’t turn you into a vampire.

It’s Been Awhile, what’s new?

DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor or medical professional. As such the information provided below is for your reading enjoyment only. This info has been gathered from other websites on the internet.

Yes, I am still here! It’s been a crazy three years since I last posted. So much for my last 3 new years resolutions. Guess they only work if you keep them. Big fat duh. My issues are of course not yours and since you keep your new years resolutions, I applaud you! Maybe this will be the year I apply myself. For the last three years I have been reading some amazing articles, mostly on various new cancer treatments. While I am not a medical doctor, or trained medically in any sense of the word, anything you read here, you should always consult your doctor or do your own research. That’s my disclaimer – and now on to few advancements I have read about.

These last few years have been challenging, for people who work, those who stay at home and the younger crowd as well. With various viruses being classified and “pandemics” which is strange as they have a 99.99 percent survival rate, it doesn’t seem like much of a pandemic. There have been so many articles about “with or without” clauses on death certificates, a person can wonder how much revenue was being made on the forgoing classifications. But I personally am going to abstain from posting my extensive views and just say – it’s been tough the last three years.

And the reason I even mention it, is because of the last three years, new cancer treatments are coming around every corner. IN SPITE OF THE CENSORSHIP! Most of the repurposed drugs used to fight various viruses and other medical issues have been found to directly stop or slow cancer down to a crawl.

I would say we owe the censorship crowd a hearty “Thank You” for bringing awareness, but not intentionally of course, to various drugs that can be repurposed to slow and stop cancer from spreading. One such drug, and famously alluded to kill if taken to fight a certain virus is of course “Ivermectin.” What a misunderstood and falsely accused substance. As it turns out, ivermectin has one of the safest ratings of drugs you can take! It’s been around for quite some time with a safety profile that is amazing. The negative press surrounding ivermectin feels like a bad attempt to stop it from being used on viruses, and not because it works, but because it works on CANCER! There are hundreds of peer reviewed articles that discuss ivermectins affects on cancer cells, in vitro and in vivo. The testing shows it stops some cancers from growing/spreading or otherwise in both the test tube and live subjects. Once again, this doesn’t mean you should run out and stock up, it just means do some research. During a checkup a few years ago, I asked my doctor his thoughts about it. He said that all the research pointed to it being ineffective. Which was basically parroting the media reports made by the pharmaceutical companies, they didn’t want a possible remedy that would stop their current monopoly on an emergency use authorization unknown concoction.  And unknown it’s remained to this day!

According to research, when ivermectin is paired with chemotherapy, the result is astounding. A higher percentage of effective or enhanced chemotherapy is achieved with it opposed to without it! When paired immunology drugs such as a monoclonal anti-PD1 antibodies, an up to 60 percent shrinking of the tumor was found to happen.

Let’s not forget the other bad actor in the bunch.  Hydroxychloroquine. It’s been shown to stop cancer as well. Yup, this one substance has a safety profile comparable to aspirin! Not that aspirin can’t be or isn’t dangerous. All substances including water can be bad for overall health is abused. But years of use for medical issues have proven it to be safe when used as directed by medical professionals. And like ivermectin, it’s effective against viruses as well as parasites. What’s not to like about it? Again, to be sure there can be issues with any person that takes the above medications. Some people are allergic, others take more then needed, creating a dangerous medical condition.

My doctor has been slowly coming around and no longer parrots what the media is saying, so there’s hope. I bring articles to my doc as he’s busy saving lives, and just like most doctors, has little time to indulge in searching for new treatments while performing old ones. Without the medias constant badgering of the above medications, we were decades away from learning about their cancer reducing properties. Thank you government purchased media! I, for one, appreciate you.

And the main take away is always consult with a medical professional, such as your doctor, for any medical treatment.

mistletoe

https://riordanclinic.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/shutterstock_527356825-300x200.jpgOK, it’s late, I’m tired and just plain worn out. But hey, mistletoe, right? Just what does this seemingly poisonous plant do for various cancers? Think of mistletoe as an immune stimulation substance, although it does have the ability to directly help those pesky little out of control cells commit apoptosis.

Where do I get this and can any mistletoe plant work? Those are questions far beyond the scope of this post. Most oncologists do not prescribe it. Your choices are limited to natural doctors for now. Generally, it’s a sterile extract that is available in various strengths,  injected subcutaneously in or around your stomach area over a period of days, while monitoring the injection site for possible reactions. A reaction at the injection site usually means it’s working somewhat to create an immune response in your body. Which of course can help to fight different diseases and some cancers. While mistletoe therapy is not approved in the U.S., it has been used in Europe and is considered a staple in the arsenal of substances for cancer patients.

Trials have been ongoing in the states and will hopefully bring more attention to this wonderful potential addition in the ongoing search for treatments that improve outcomes in all stages of cancer. Whether mistletoe is right for you should be something you discuss with your doctors. The possibility of a bad reaction is always there with any substance you inject into your body. But for the most part, it has been used safely in Europe for many years.

DMSO

What exactly is DMSO? It’s mainly a byproduct of the lumber industry. The history began in 1961, with Dr. Jacob who was head of an organ transplant program in Oregon. He was looking for a preservative for organs when he noticed how it penetrated into tissue.

Or the history began in Germany in the late 19th century as a byproduct of the paper making industry. Take your pick.

Many years later and trying to get DMSO introduced into the medical community to be used for various ailments, the FDA blacklisted it, most likely because they considered it “snake oil”. However, there were others that pursued the medicinal qualities of DSMO eventually bringing this somewhat miraculous solvent from the lumber industry into the mainstream medical community.

But just what is DMSO and how it applicable to cancer? The list is turning out to be endless, to say the least. While holding the title as an amazing newcomer in various therapies, the claims about the healing powers are a bit stretched. Currently the research is mostly positive about applications in medicine and various treatments.

Yes. It has been known to cure, YES CURE, certain diseases and medical conditions. Just not everything. Which is what quite a few internet websites would have you believe. Here are some of the more promising uses:

Therapeutic Properties of DMSO

16 Major Therapeutic Properties of DMSO: Referenced from “DMSO, Nature’s Healer” by Dr. Morgan Walker pages 50 and 152:

1 – It blocks pain by interrupting the conduction in the small c-fibers, the nonmyelinated nerve fibers.
2 – It is anti-inflammatory.
3 – It is bacteriostatic, fungistatic, and virostatic.
4 – It transports numerous pharmaceuticals across membranes.
5 – It reduces the incidence of platelet thrombi in blood vessels.
6 – It has a specific effect on cardiac contractility by inhibiting calcium to reduce the workload of the heart.
7 – It stimulates prostaglandin synthesis – cyclical fatty acids that possess diverse biologic activities that affect cell function in every organ system. PGs have sedative and anticonvulsive effects on the central nervous system.
8 – It enhances antifungal and antibacterial agents when combined with them.
9 – It is a vasodilator, probably related to histamine release in the cells and to prostaglandin inhibition.
10 – It inhibits the release of cholinesterase.
11 – It tends to soften collagen by its peculiar cross-linking effect.
12 – It scavenges the hydroxyl free radical.
13 – It stimulates various types of immunity.
14 – It is a potent diuretic, especially when administered intravenously.
15 – It brings about interferon formation in the organism.
16 – It stimulates the healing of wounds.

And it also is reported to slow the progression of cancer on it’s own or in combination with chemotherapy. It been said to penetrate the protein shield of a cancer cell and remove the nutrients from it, leaving the cell weak. It’s also known to stimulate the immune system.

There are so many uses to list them all would be impossible in this post. What I can say is I’ve been using it for myself to relieve various aches and pains. Has it worked? You betcha! At least for me. I’m able to sleep better for sure after applying a small amount. I’m not advocating you try it, just saying I have.

There is a downside to DMSO to watch for. Besides the potential for a garlic like smell to be emitted from your body after using it, since it’s a very powerful solvent anything on your skin will get pushed into your body, including any nasty chemicals in your body lotions, soaps etc. You should not let anything touch the area after applying as well to prevent the DMSO from adding another unwanted hitchhiker. Yes. It’s that strong. Currently some uses are to help deliver medications directly to your system by bypassing the oral route.

I am looking forward to continued discoveries regarding this amazing byproduct of lumber.

Fasting… Should You?

The Fasting Mimicking Diet was created by Dr. Valter Longo. This diet can mimic a 3 day water fast while still eating small amounts of food that trick the body into thinking it’s not taking in any nutrients. Cool, huh? While the benefits of a water fast include a shorter duration compared to the 5 days of a FMD, most people find it hard to finish the water fast. I am in the beginning stages of doing the water fast and it’s intersting to say the least. My first fast started with the 16/8 style. Where you don’t eat for 16 hours and limit food intake to 8 hours. My second was a 24 hour water fast. The third was a 36 hour water fast. Here I began to see some changes. I was starting to use ketones for fuel at the 36 hour mark. At 24 hours I was hungry and tired and angry a bit. Hangry is the official term I believe.  But when I woke the next morning at 36 hours there was a peaceful clarity I have personally never experienced before. No hunger, just calm, relaxed and clear headed. Total clarity. I broke the fast and now knew I would be able to make a three day or 72 hour water fast.

The FMD has many benefits for just about everyone, including cancer patients. The cool thing is it may increase the effectiveness of chemotherapy and radiation if you fast before and after chemo etc.

The cancer cell doesn’t have this protective shield that our normal cells do when food is removed for periods of time. So, the chemo doesn’t effect your cells since they are in a protected mode. The cancer has lost this ability and can’t stop the chemo from killing it. So many other metabolism changes are taking place as well.

This excerpt below is from the Prolon website which offers a ready to eat 5 day FMD. Head over there if you want to know more…

THE EFFECTS OF THE FASTING MIMICKING DIET

Better preservation of cognitive functions. Adopting a low-calorie diet not only contributes to cellular regeneration but also helps to reinforce neural regeneration and enhance learning abilities.
Reduction of abdominal fat with a significant increase in muscle mass in relation to body weight.
Decrease of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. Studies assert that it would be able to repair pancreatic cells responsible for producing insulin.
Significant improvement in blood pressure and cholesterol values in subjects having the following alterations.
The strategic deprivation of certain nutrients, not only prevents the risk of developing pathologies such as cancer, but it has also produced a decrease in the IGF1 hormone by stimulating the regeneration of tissues. The hormone IGF1 is necessary for growth during development. However, when we get older it is a cause of diseases in the process of cellular aging.
A rejuvenation of the immune system, a kind of “reset” whereby about a third will be destroyed, and will be rebuilt during the refeeding, or when a normal diet is resumed.

Basically you can reboot your immune system! There are clinical trials taking place to evaluate the chemotherapy results of fasting which are very promising as well.

For the moment, fasting for 72 hours or a 5 day FMD by itself gives similar results to just doing chemotherapy by itself. But together, they appear to be completely synergistic.

I look forward to more on this promising method to add to our store of treatments available for various cancers.
